Transformation Rummy

A card game about transformation and chaos.

Based on a classic TF story trope, play a hand of rummy against three AI opponents  each with their own agenda. Collect sets of three matching cards to play them, transform your rivals, and empty your hand before anyone else does.

How to play:

On your turn, draw a card, play any matching sets of three you can, then discard one. A valid set is three cards of the same color and same symbol. One wild card may substitute for any card in a set.

Each card has a color and a symbol. The symbol  gives the effect, the color chooses which character will be effected.  Wild cards carry a costume  which comes with additional effects that can further change character stats, add cards to the draw pile, or grant additional abilities. Be selective of the matches you play to reach your character's goal and foil your opponents plans.

Each opponent plays differently. Maya wants everyone as curvy as possible. Rachel wants to keep things from getting out of hand - unless you push her to the tipping point. Niki  is careful and calculating, but punishes anyone who acts against her.  Lea just wants to finally not be the shortest in the friend group.

I think a gallery would be nice, maybe an incentive to play more and differently.

size only changes by 1 regardless of whether you have 2 or 3 cards of that type

You need to implement a scroll-wheel function. All too often the next-game button is inaccessible because the window can't show that much text and/or the images are too big. Being able to scroll down the game window when playing in-browser would be very helpful.

Is there a way to target characters? It seems random, though it could also just be that whatever lets you target a character is getting cut off.

card colors correspond to characters

I don't think the cat card works right. They don't grow when cat/mice cards are played

Also, every now and then I'll have a set of 3 that I just can't use. Something happens where clicking one card selects another and they seem to not properly register that they're all selected, meaning you can't submit. I'm using browser if that makes a difference.

Otherwise, very good stuff. Having a lot of fun trying to do different personal goals. Haven't been able to push rachel past the "tipping point" yet, unfortunately.

Deleted my previous critique now that I'm understanding things a bit better.

Still having an issue with scaling. I have to zoom out to even see the buttons, but then it's too hard to read the cards effectively. I have to imagine half of it is the images used, but I'm not sure. While I could probably modify the style document to better shift everything, that still doesn't solve things long term.

Maybe set certain areas to a proportion, so that things can be more easily viewed without scaling.

Thank you for the feedback. The small/medium/large sizes have been reworked so hopefully now it will fit well on common desktop and laptop sizes.  It still won't work well on mobile devices, but a mobile version may be possible in the future.

A new tab in the 'how to play' menu was also added to address your earlier comments.
